George Clooney was recently reported to police for driving a water taxi in Venice, Italy. The actor was promoting his new movie, Gravity, at the Venice Film Festival with co-star Sandra Bullock earlier this week, and was photographed on Thursday steering their water vehicle, Contactmusic reported.

The picture caught the eye of a local lawyer Mario D’Elia, who sent a letter to police, explaining the actor would need a nautical licence and permit to drive a water taxi, and has asked cops to check the movie star’s credentials.

The actor laughed off the drama when asked about it on Friday, saying that other than getting lost in space (in his new movie), turning in Venice by boat is one of the most difficult situations he had faced.
