The editors of a German magazine have apologised to singer Beyonce Knowles after running an erroneous article about the singer and her marriage to rap superstar Jay Z. The article featured details about a bogus marriage contract and Beyonce’s controversial feelings about white producers.
“We have serious doubts in the truth of many statements of the interview of Ms Beyonce Knowles published in Neon, Issue January/2010,” contactmusic.com quoted Neon editors Michael Ebert and Timm Klotzek as saying in the apology printed in the magazine.
The magazine said the article was written by freelancer Ingo Mocek, who was unable to verify certain statements. “We assume the interview didn’t take place as claimed by Ingo Mocek. We sincerely apologise to Ms Knowles for all inconvenience due to the publication of this interview,” it said.
