Even before having made her Bollywood debut, Narmada Ahuja has been in the news a lot, following reports of her father Govinda’s fall-out with actor Salman Khan, who was allegedly supposed to launch her. This came after Khan was spotted with Ahuja at the IIFA Awards in 2009. But, according to the young actor, the news was “the biggest rumour she had ever heard”.
Apart from concentrating on her first film, Ahuja has something else she’d like to do — write a book. “My father has given me so many tips. I can and I definitely will write a book penning down all that advice. You have to be really intelligent about taking the right people’s counsel when it comes to choosing films,” she says, adding that the most important piece of advice her dad has given her so far has been — “Give
your heart and soul to what you do.” Talking about him, she adds, “Even though the industry has given my father his due, I feel he deserves much more. I am inspired to take his name, fame and glory further.”
Currently she is busy looking forward to the shooting schedule of her debut film, but refuses to divulge details about it. “It feels good to finally be part of a film. I am excited about it, but I cannot talk about it yet. An announcement has been planned strategically,” says Ahuja, who planned a quiet private dinner for her father’s birthday on Tuesday. “All I can say is that the film is a romantic comedy.”
As for her plan in Bollywood, it definitely doesn’t include serious cinema, just as yet. She reasons, “I would love to do roles that are light, something I enjoy doing rather than trying to prove myself or catch up with the competition in the industry.”
