For the past four years, Delhi has been making its pet-owners happy. India International Pet Fair (IIPF)— South Asia’s only pet trade fair and India’s largest pet event — is holding its fifth edition in the city. This exhibition-cum-trade show will have 150 stalls and will see lots of activities and events for you and your pets.

“This year, internationally-acclaimed animal psychologist and master trainer John Richardson will be here to demonstrate how to train dogs. Richardson has authored the book, The Dog Whisperer,” says Deebashree Mohanty of Creature Companion, which is hosting the event.

Pet lovers can look forward to having a blast dressing up their pet cats and dogs at the fancy dress competition. For those, who think their dog is the most obedient, can take part in the dog obedience show. To participate, you can get your pet registered on-the-spot for Rs.150. Also, there will be awareness talks on various topics, like pet therapy and pet hygiene.

Pet accessories and animal-related careers
The stalls will have pet items, such as fancy clothing, accessories, utensils, pet food and grooming products. “There will be an ‘ask your vet’ corner, where people can address their pet-related queries and they will be answered by a reputed vet,” says Mohanty.
The fair will have a whole set of exotic pets for people to choose from. There will also be lectures on taking up animal-based careers.
