Salma Hayek, the super-curvy Mexican beauty best known to Indian viewers for Desperado and Frida, is likely to make temperatures rise further in Delhi — she is tipped to come with her billionaire husband, the Frenchman Francois-Henri Pinault.
Pinault, CEO and chairman of the luxury conglomerate PPR, is visiting here as a keynote speaker at the forthcoming IHT Luxury Conference, on March 25-26, at the Imperial. The buzz is that the haute couple will make another public appearance as husband-wife — they married this Valentine’s Day following a long relationship — after attending the Balenciaga show at the Paris Fashion Week this month.
We did not get any official word on Salma’s presence from the conference organiser, International Herald Tribune. But Pinault is “delivering a talk on March 25 on the topic ‘Towards Responsible Luxury’”, says our source. Highly placed sources connected to the event tell us that there is every reason to believe Salma will accompany him.
At Imperial hotel, staff are tight-lipped on room bookings, but we found out that Pinault is staying in one of the luxury suites and “the preparations are for double occupancy of the suite”, says a hotel insider. Other star speakers at the IHT Luxury Conference are designer Nicolas Ghesquière of Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, Stella McCartney and Roberto Cavalli.
