The John Green wave continues. The author of Looking For Alaska announced on social media recently that Canadian actor-director Sarah Polley would be writing and directing the film adaptation of his book. The news follows the success of The Fault in Our Stars, which opened to a $48.2 million weekend, as reported by Forbes.

Looking for Alaska had earlier been optioned by Paramount but never took off because of various problems. "That said, if they ever do make it (Looking for Alaska), I think it could be quite a good film, and I'd be totally excited. But I'm not waiting patiently by the phone or anything," Green said on his Tumblr account.

Green did share the news of Polley working on the adaptation on his Twitter account. Polley is known for her role in the television series Road to Avonlea and her directorial debut Away from Her (2006). She is also famous for her political and social activism.

Looking for Alaska is a coming-of-age story set in a boarding school. It follows the lives of new student Miles Halter and his friends; one of them is a girl named Alaska who catches Halter's imagination.

The announcement of the Looking for Alaska movie has sent a buzz among the ever-increasing fan base of this popular Young Adult author.
