Bollywood actor Juhi Chawla will soon make her Hollywood debut with a Steven Spielberg production
that is being directed by Lasse Hallström. She will be seen playing veteran actor Om Puri’s wife in the film.
However, for the role, the makers needed Juhi to look at least 15 years older than she is. So, to make sure she fit that requirement, the 46-year-old has been made to age digitally on screen with the help of post-production techniques.
A source says, “Puri is 63 years old, and that’s why Juhi was required to look older for the part. Also, it was crucial for her character to age because the film shows a passage of time over 15 years; it would be odd if she looked the same even many years later.”
Although little is known about Juhi’s part, the actor has admitted that it is a small but pivotal role.
Juhi Chawla was scared of playing a negative character in Gulaab Gang initially.
