Fox has just released a new trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, due in US theaters May 23.
The 2.3 minutes video echoes the dark and dramatic atmosphere of the first trailer, released in the fall. The action reinforces the film's premise: mutants must unite to avoid being wiped off the face of the planet by the Sentinels, the terrible robots programmed to destroy them.
The director of the first films in the franchise, Bryan Singer returned to helm this blockbuster, in which the action shifts between the 1970s and an apocalyptic future. This split narrative will allow James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart to share the role of Professor X. The same goes for Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen in the role of Magneto.
Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, Omar Sy, Fan BingBing and Peter Dinklage are also in the cast of the feature.
Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the aggressive and restless Logan/Wolverine in the film.
