The British actor revealed to the public through Twilight has landed the title role in The Childhood of a Leader, Variety reports.
Twenty-seven-year-old Robert Pattinson will share the credits with Tim Roth and Juliette Binoche in American actor Brady Corbet's directorial debut.
According to Variety, the feature will examine the background of an unspecified post-World War I leader.
The Childhood of a Leader will be filmed in Europe from next May. Pattinson's other projects lined up for 2014 include Werner Herzog's Queen of the Desert -- in which he will play Lawrence of Arabia -- and James Gray's Lost City of Z. The young actor is also likely to join the cast of the James Dean biopic Life in the role of the photographer Dennis Stock.
