English model-actor Elizabeth (Liz) Hurley, 47, has been sporting a rock on her finger since 2011. And now, her fiance and former Australian cricketer Shane Warne reveals that their much-anticipated marriage might take place any day soon. Warnie, as he is fondly called, revealed this in an exclusive chat with us, during his recent visit to Delhi. “We’re obviously engaged and enjoying our engagement. Hopefully we’ll get married soon,” shared the 43-year-old.The king of spin also revealed how the celeb couple juggles between their packed schedules to make time for each other. "Well, we have to. We try and do everything together, as much as we can. The hardest thing that we do in our relationship is manage between two continents (Australia and Europe) which is physically two ends of the world. So there are a lot of frequent flier miles involved. We are always looking for the best deals on the plane," he says, adding, "Then there are four children (three of Shane and one of Liz with ex-spouses) between us so that makes four different school schedules; Elizabeth’s work, my work, sponsorship commitments; our charity works, businesses we are involved in, so, it’s pretty hectic. Even if we have one hour, we are going back to the computer organising things."
‘I haven’t had Botox or surgery'
His fit and young looks at 43 and drastic weight loss have made headlines. So much so that gossip mills are abuzz that the former Australian cricketer Shane Warne has undergone Botox and liposuction. But the Sheik of Tweak denies them all. "I’ve always taken care of my personal grooming...A lot of people think I’ve had Botox or gone to surgeons. Nah! I’ve actually got wrinkles (points out to his face). I haven’t had any of that stuff...(But) I definitely feel a lot younger," says Warnie, who launched Advance Hair Studios’ new hair restoration procedure, Blitz, in the Capital.
He, however, does concede to that he has reduced way too much weight. “I did get way too skinny once. I was training so hard. I was eating really healthy. I got down to 77 kilos, which is pretty light considering I’m 6 foot (tall). But I’ve skipped a lot and put on 5 kilos in the last months or so. I’m 82 (kilos) now. I need to get back to that,” he says.
We ask how much has his model-actor fiance Elizabeth Hurley influenced him for the stark change in his physical appearance, Warne says, “It has nothing to do with Liz. Where she has been an influence is on the eating. Earlier, apart from my regular meals, after hours of cricket, I used to come and order room service pizza for 4-5 days in a week. What Elizabeth has got me to do is have three meals a day, no snacks and eating a lot healthier, actually eating a lot of vegetables (says with a smirk).”
In return, he’s got Liz hooked on to the game. “Oh! she’s developed some interest in cricket. So, occasionally whenever we have some free time, we actually put the TV on and she watches a little bit of cricket,” he says.
