Check list: You’ll need a Rs 5 court stamp (available at any court), address proof, one stamp-sized photograph (25 mm X 35 mm) and one passport-sized photograph, photocopies of proof of ID issued by the government (passport, driver’s license, PAN card). You could spend Rs 100 for a one year permit, Rs 1,000 for a lifetime permit, or Rs 5 for a one-day permit for foreign liquor).

2. What to do: Pick up the form from a wine shop or the Old Customs House, Fort. You can also download it from the State Excise website or visit this direct link: Submit the form at the Old Customs House.

3. Pssssst (Tips): The excise office remains functional from 11 am to 3.30 pm (lunch time: 1.15 pm to 2 pm). If you’re lazy, you can also collect daily drinking permits from your wine shop.
