Actors turned social networking junkies with the advent of Facebook. And with the rise of micro-blogging website, Twitter, they seem to have been swimming in a tank of sweet nothings. Friendship’s blooming on the networking portal, what with actors, filmmakers, singers and music composers giving their ‘industry friends’ a shout.
Actress Sonam Kapoor, a self-confessed Twitter fanatic, left VJ-turned-actress Bruna Abdullah a Tweet that reads, “…Bruna’s a very good friend of mine. She’s looking like a hottieeee in the film.” In times when actresses are often seen indulging in catfights, such camaraderie is noteworthy.
While Kapoor’s waxing eloquent about her bond with Abdullah, filmmaker Karan Johar introduced his jewellery designer friend, Maheep Kapoor to his Twitter followers a few weeks ago. Through a Tweet that said, “Hey guys!! please welcome Sanjay Kapoor’s wife, jewellery designer@maheepkapoor to twitterworld!! she is super cool!!”, the director made his love for Maheep get noticed.
Stars who haven’t even worked together are using Twitter as a platform to extend a hand of friendship. Where actress Priyanka Chopra was seen raving about her contemporary Lisa Ray’s language skills a few weeks ago, actor Dino Morea has constantly been tweeting Uday Chopra about phones and pictures.
Actress Jacqueline Fernandez, just one film old in Bollywood, is using the blog-o-space to win over the frat. She’s been exchanging tweets with director Tarun Mansukhani on films and common friends. Others making their newly found friendships known are actors Imran Khan, Abhay Deol, Mallika Sherawat, and music composers Vishal and Shekhar.
