entertainment at a function in Gurgaon.
Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was honoured as the 'Global Face of the Year' at the inaugural edition of Indian Youth icon awards designed to recognise achievements by individuals in various fields like entertainment, media, social welfare and justice, technology, business and sports.
Deepika Padukone was awarded the Fashion Icon of the year accolade. The actress also walked the ramp for fashion designer Manish Malhotra who showcased his collection at the event.
The awards were organised by Wizcraft Entertainment and electronics conglomerate Videocon at the Leela Kempinski Hotel on Friday.
Actor Rahul Bose's philanthropy earned him the title of youth icon in the field of social work.
Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi was given Icon of the Year award, which was accepted by party's MP Priya Dutt while Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was declared as the youth icon in field of politics.
Olympic gold medalist, shooter Abhinav Bindra was honoured in the sports category, while author Chetan Bhagat was named as the Indian Youth Icon of the year in the field of Arts.
