Hrithik Roshan, who is all set to play Shiva in filmmaker Karan Johar’s next Shuddhi, is going to celebrate Mahashivratri in a huge way this year. The actor will visit his family-owned Shiva temple at Panvel on Sunday.
“This being the 25th year of the huge Shiva temple, that his grandfather J Omprakash built, the family plans to celebrate the occasion in a big way,” says a source close to the actor. Hundreds of devotees flock to the temple all through the year and this Mahashivratri the number is expected to be even bigger, reveals the source.
Hrithik will start working on Shuddhi sometime during the last quarter of this year. The movie is based on the The Immortals of Meluha, the first book of author Amish Tripathi’s Shiva Trilogy. Presently, though he’s busy finishing off the post-production work for his father Rakesh’s third instalment of the superhero franchise Krrish, and preparing for Siddharth Anand’s action thriller Bang Bang opposite Katrina Kaif, Hrithik will manage to squeeze time out to pray at the temple.
“He has kept that day off from his tight schedule so that he could attend the puja there and offer his prayers with his family,” says the source. Hrithik remained unavailable for a comment but his spokesperson confirmed the news.
