Being a star isn’t a child’s play, and we aren’t just talking about the pressure of delivering hits. Often, an actor’s personal life attracts more spotlight than his career — as has been with Hrithik Roshan.
This, however, doesn’t perturb the actor much. Fit at 40 and sounding more confident than ever before, he says, "The true path to a blissful life is to do your own job well. Our entire life is contribution of a lot of things, and the focus should be on mastering something with utmost passion and honesty. If people want to talk, that’s okay... they are doing their job. I don’t waste my time thinking about that, so it doesn’t disturb me."
Last year, while on the one hand Hrithik delivered the blockbuster Krrish 3, on the other, he had a much-publicised breakup with his wife of 13 years, Sussanne. The latter led to a lot of speculation around his life. We ask if he regrets being in a profession that draws so much unwarranted attention? "No, I don’t regret," he keeps his reply short.
Clearly, the ups and downs might have changed his life a tad bit, but haven’t made him less humble or bitter. So, when we asked him, if, like his industry colleague Priyanka Chopra, he, too believes that heroines should not take credit for Rs 100 crore films that mostly ride on the power of the hero, he says he differs. "I don’t agree with that. I don’t think even a hero can take the credit entirely. A film is a team effort, and everybody shares the credit," he insists.
He is coming up with a big budget release almost after a year. And that too with Katrina Kaif, with whom his chemistry already garnered rave appreciation in Zoya Akhtar’s 2011 hit Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
However, these are not the only reasons Hrithik Roshan is excited about. That the apple of his eye, his two sons — Hrehaan, 14, and Hridhaan, 6, — are looking forward to watching his film, is what is keeping him excited of late. "Hrehaan and Hridhaan are now getting to that age when they can give me feedback. So, I’m really excited about what they tell me after watching the film,” says Hrithik.
The actor separated from his wife, Sussanne Khan, in December last year, and the kids have been staying with her since then. Hrithik, however, always makes it a point to spend time with his kids.
He recently took the two to music composers Vishal-Shekhar’s studio to make them understand the process of composing music. He has also planned a special screening of the film for them.
Talking more about his kids, Hrithik says, "They loved the teaser... all the actionand stunts, and they even loved the music. So now, I’m really waiting for them to watch it."
