Pakistani actor Humaima Malick, 25, is not amused with the allegations made by cricketer Shoaib Akhtar against her rumoured love interest, former cricketer Wasim Akram.
In his recently released autobiography, Controversially Yours, Akhtar says Akram attempted to finish his career. Malick, however, lashes out, “Shoaib has always been in news because of others. It’s stupid of him to say something like this. I know Wasim will never spoil anyone’s career. He is much senior to Shoaib, and in the one year that I have known him, I have always seen him supporting young talent,” says the actor. “Wasim is not the kind of person who can ever be insecure of anyone,” she adds.
What about her current equation with Akram? “Wasim is a dear friend. I can’t say if the relationship will go any further from here but the friendship will surely strengthen,” she says.
The actor, who stars with singer Atif Aslam in Bol, will walk the runway for designer Honey Waqar at Bridal Asia today. Ask her about Bollywood plans and she says, “ I would love to star with Amitabh Bachchan.” But isn’t the actor too young to be paired with Big B? “Age is just a number for artists,” she says.
