When he led his team to defeat Sri Lanka in the recent nail biting final of the tri-nation ODI series, Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won a fan for life. The former captain of the under-19 team, Unmukt Chand, says he has become a die-hard fan of Dhoni and just wants to follow in his footsteps.
"Dhoni is an amazing leader and I am a die-hard fan. The way he plays and thinks under tense situations is exceptional. He is the best finisher in the world and there's so much to learn from him. The confidence and belief that he has in himself is something infectious. I hope I can have the same belief and confidence in my abilities," says 20-year-old Chand.
Talking about his own year so far, he adds, "I have had my share of ups and downs. My performance in the Ranji tournament has been good this year and I am looking forward to improving it." The young cricketer is also a self-confessed Bollywood fan. "Ranbir Kapoor is my favourite actor. My choice in actresses keeps changing. Kareena, Vidya Balan, Anushka all are good."
