I have lived in Mumbai for eight years;and this is my fifth house.I live in a two-bedroom flat with my brother in the Juhu-Versova area of Mumbai.I like this house because of the sea view and good energy.Kaminey released when I was in this house; I signed more films and was nominated for awards as well.
My living room is in green.I don’t know much about colours so when I got my house painted, I asked Ahana (Esha Deol’s younger sister) what colour to paint my living room. My bedroom is in pink. A friend tells me I have a feminine side but I am colour-blind. My kitchen has multicoloured tiles. I have black curtains, cushion covers and furniture.
From around the world
I really enjoy doing up my home. I’ve picked up everything from the curtains to the posters. I’ve a collection of posters and music records that I picked up from different parts of the world.
Keeping it low
I like low seating. I don’t like to clutter my house with too much furniture. My mom forced me to have a centre table but I prefer eating on the floor. I don’t have a single tube light in my house. I enjoy dim lights or no lights as it helps me focus.
My favourite corner is the corridor that has all my books, DVDs and the Kill Bill poster. On my bedroom ceiling, a pattern has been made by candle flames. My painter came up with this idea. He’s an 80-year-old guy who used to paint for films and claims to have worked on Mughal-e-Azam too.
Dilliwala at heart
I’d like to buy a house in JVPD because it reminds me of Delhi. It has a lot of greenery and bigger lanes. Mumbai is very expensive. Delhi is very good in terms of finding good houses for cheaper money and space.
