I am a fitness freak. I was one of the first ones to be on the cover of Society magazine in 1995 flaunting my six packs.

Who do you think is the fittest person in the entertainment business today?
Akshay Kumar.

Where do you think you are lacking?
I can outrun a lot of people, as I am quite fit but not as good as Akshay Kumar. He takes fitness to another level. I can’t see myself doing something as astonishing as jumping of a chopper. I find it stupid.

It is a case of irresponsible journalism, biologically 12 packs is not possible. Sanjay might have made a comic dig which
was taken a little too seriously.

How does it feel to be one of the judges at PC Jewellers Miss India Worldwide India, an HT City initiative?
Judging fitness is a little difficult. While judging such a contest we not only look at a beautiful face but an equally beautiful personality to go with it. How the garments look, how comfortable is the body language, and how can you project yourself in the best way possible.

What are your upcoming films?
Freeze, Kal Kisne Dekha, Run Bhola Run, Ashtivinayak’s 120 crore film called Blue, Rajdhani and an animation film — Sultan.

Do you think the number of supermodels have dipped down [today] in the fashion industry?
I don’t see any beautiful woman on the ramp these days. During my time we had Madhu Sapre or Sheetal Malhar. Though we still have Miss India contests, the models are not taking fashion fraternity by storm.

How does it feel being a father?
I am not a paranoid parent who would force him [his son] for anything. [Smiles] As a parent I fail because my son does not take me seriously. He is not much into fitness but he likes playing football.
