When Ekta Kapoor walked in at the recently held first look launch of Lootera, she grabbed quite a few eyeballs. Giving black — a colour she is often spotted wearing — a miss, the filmmaker surprised everyone by turning up in a bright pink gown.

When asked her if she’d like to be an actor one day, she said, “I don’t want to be a heroine. I don’t want my production house to lose money!” Although she admitted that she loves all the compliments coming her way, she feels that acting isn’t her cup of tea. According to her, Sonakashi Sinha — who stars opposite Ranveer Singh in the film — makes a perfect actress. “Sonakshi is gorgeous. My mother was telling me that she reminds her of heroines from the bygone era. Sonakshi has a very old-world charm,” says Ekta.

In fact, a source tells us that Ekta was seen bonding with Poonam Sinha, Sonakshi’s mother, at the launch. “Ekta and Poonam were having a long chat at the launch,” says the insider.
