Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap says he had fixed notions about Karan Johar, who will be seen acting in his upcoming film Bombay Velvet.
When asked about the experience of working with Karan and whether at any point he made suggestions to direct in a certain way, Anurag says, "No, in fact, people have all these assumptions about him based on the films he has made. Even I had fixed notions about him. I hated him because I didn’t know him. But, when you meet Karan, you realise he is a man who can laugh at himself. You’ll be surprised to see him act."
While the director has had several run-ins with the Censor Board (CB) in the past, he doesn’t feel the body is biased. "You have to understand that it (the board) is not an autonomous body. It’s the Information and Broadcasting Ministry that is questioned first if anything goes wrong. In case of an uproar, the ministry calls the CB and asks them why they didn’t cut the scene," says Anurag.
