, Justin Long is fascinated by actor Aishwarya Rai. As his new movie
Going The Distance
with ex-girlfriend Drew Barrymore continues its strong business at the box office, the actor reveals that Rai is the only Bollywood actress he’d like to “go the distance” with.
Says Long, “I think Aishwarya’s the most beautiful woman in the world. And I’ve heard she won’t come over here to the States! I know Martin Scorcese, Paul Anderson, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt have tried to bring her, but have failed. I hope I can coax her to come here. Maybe she has a taste for little, tasty monkey men!”
At the same time, Long’s doubtful that India would like to give her up. “I mean, if I were you, I wouldn’t want to give her up. She’s a national treasure. For example, we wouldn’t want to give the Statue of Liberty back to France, you know what I’m saying?” he jokes.<b1>
Working with Drew
As talk veers to the movie that he calls “a non-formulaic rom com”, Long says that he’s happy that it gave him the opportunity to learn a lot professionally from his ex, Barrymore, who’s been working since she was a child.
“I learnt how you can compose yourself on a set and how you can be heavily involved and focused in a movie and still be incredibly gracious, generous and kind to the people you are working with,” he says.
“And since she’s a director, Drew has a great eye for how the scene is going to be put together,” he adds. “So I would always keep looking to her, and feel comforted when she’d move on from the scene. It always made me feel like I had done my best, you know. So it was good to have a working partner like that.”
