"As an Indian, I am proud to be hosting the Commonwealth Games," says cricketer Yuvraj Singh, calling himself an “almost Delhiite”. The cricketer, who has spent a lot of time in Delhi in recent years, is rooting for the success of the Games. “I sincerely hope everything goes off well in Delhi, I think we are ready for them,” he says.
He may be a ladies’ man, but there is one woman Yuvi is totally in awe of. “Salma Hayek, right from the day I watched Desperado. I was 17 or 18 then,” he says, adding that as a teenager he “idolised” actor George Clooney.
Not playing at the moment, he says he’s living the good life. “I’m catching up with a whole lot of friends, attending bashes and family occasions,” says the 28-year-old, who was in the Capital as the ambassador for clothing brand Jack and Jones. “Once I start playing, I will not have anymore time,” he rues.
Though he doesn’t agree that homemade khaana seems to be adding to his weight, something that’s made headlines in gossip columns recently. “When things are not going fine on the field, people just need masala like this to justify everything!”
