I'm too young to marry: Akshaye Khanna
Akshaye Khanna doesn’t rule out marriage, but wants to enjoy his bachelor days for a few more years. “I will get married after I turn 40. I’m only 36, too young to get married,” he insists.
Akshaye Khanna doesn’t rule out marriage, but wants to enjoy his bachelor days for a few more years. “I will get married after I turn 40. I’m only 36, too young to get married,” he insists.
Unlike many of his colleagues, the actor doesn’t enjoy being in the media glare. “Some people lead very interesting lives. They make good copy and you can constantly write about them. Even I like reading about them. My life, in comparison, is boring and it’s difficult for people like me to stay in the spotlight,” he reasons.
Akshaye will be seen after a long time in Rumi Jaffery’s political satire, Gali Gali Chor Hai. He says it wasn’t his role but the package as a whole that influenced his decision to do the film. “You wouldn’t be wowed by a character if the script is bad. For me, it’s the script first. It must be high on content,” he asserts.
Why did he go missing for over a year after Tees Maar Khan (2010), you wonder, and Akshaye retorts, “Everyone wants to go out to work. But there are very few good writers, and good scripts are rare, so you usually have no choice.”
And is there any film of his that he feels can be taken forward in a sequel? "Dil Chahta Hai (2001). It would be interesting to see what happens to the three friends,” says Akshaye.
