Whom do you live with?
I live with my parents and that’s my most fashionable trait. Our government bungalow in Chanakyapuri, allocated to my bureaucrat father, has greenery all around.
The last time you travelled in a DTC bus
It was years ago when I was a school student at DPS, Mathura Road.
I work out in Aura, at the Park (2374 3000). Actually, I’m supposed to be gymming five days a week but I’m travelling a lot these days because of my movie work with Priyanka Chopra’s Anjana Anjani, the screenplay of which I’m writing.
Where do you dine when you have money to splurge?
It has to be Threesixty at the Oberoi’s (24363030). They have a lovely sushi bar and they bake their pizzas in wooden-fired ovens.
Where was your last work meeting? What did you order?
It was in Italia, a restaurant at DLF promenade in Vasant Kunj (43111777). I had risotto.
Your favourite Delhi food.
I go to Kareem’s in Old Delhi where I never skip ordering their Bakarkhani. It’s sweetened bread, which is very earthy, very rustic and quite rich.
Your latest outfit?
A long-sleeved black tunic with an antique metallic trim around the collar, which I bought from designers Shantanu-Nikhil’s store in Defence Colony(32563451). I like a minimalist style of dressing and this outfit suited me perfectly.
Delhi’s coolest monument.
I’m looking for a house and recently my real-estate agent showed me a place in Nizamuddin East where the kitchen window looks onto the Humayun’s Tomb. It was lovely!
Any shrine you frequent?
Twice a month I go to the Sai Baba Mandir on Lodhi Road, to say ‘hi’ to Baba.
Your dream neighbourhood.
Nizamuddin East.Green and peaceful, it’s a lovely colony for a writer to live in.
Your favourite bookstore
To disconnect myself from the world, I go to Mid Land Book Store in Aurobindo Market and sit around the books there. The owner is a gentleman and always gets me chai.
Your favourite cafe.
I like spending time at Costa Coffee in Green Park Market. They have a set of hearing-impaired people behind the counter, which is very ethical. It’s lovely to communicate with them.
Where do you party in Delhi?
When I was younger, our gang would unfailing go to Djinns, the disco at Hyatt. Since we were not members, we would make a backdoor entry. And no, we were never caught.
You’d want to be a guest to...
President Pratibha Patil’s home in Raisina Hill. It’s Delhi’s fanciest house and I have seen it only from the outside.
Your favourite market.
Khan Market. I love the Blanco restaurant there. They have little sit-outs on the second floor and they play cheesy 80s music, which is so cool.
Your favourite Metro route
Rajiv Chowk to Chandni Chowk. Old Delhi is tough to drive to even today but this Metro journey takes you right into its heart within minutes.
