It was a fairytale moment for Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi, as they exchanged wedding vows at their catholic wedding in Goa on Saturday morning. Lara walked the aisle in a white Ellie Saab gown that had a 10-metre train, paired with a diamond tiara, while Mahesh wore a black tuxedo.
After the wedding, the couple and their friends headed to The Taj Aguada for night-long celebrations on the beach. The décor was white, lilac and pink with flowers and candles, and the cuisine, Goan. DJ Hussain belted out hit songs from Lara’s movies, such as Aisa Jaadoo and Dus Bahaane.
Lara, 32 and Mahesh, 36 danced together to Peabo Brysan's Tonight I Celebrate My Love for You. The party went on into the early hours of Sunday morning, after which the couple gave return gifts to all the guests — chocolate-coated almonds. In the afternoon, they hosted a brunch for close friends. The newlyweds then took off to Dubai.
The couple will have two wedding receptions. "There will be one in Bangalore one in Delhi," says Mahesh's friend, entrepreneur Timsy Anand.
