Neeraj Grover murder co-accused Maria Susairaj may have threatened legal action against filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, but nothing will deter RGV from casting the Kannada actor in one of his upcoming films.

Varma, whose August 19 release, Not A Love Story, is based on the case, has received legal notices from Susairaj and co-accused Jerome Matthew, saying that the movie is offensive to them. But, the director says he will still go ahead and cast Susairaj if he wants to.

“If I have a role for her, I won’t hesitate just because of what happened to her. Am I being insensitive to Neeraj Grover’s family? I understand how hurt they must be. But in a civilised society, you can’t become the law and the judiciary and decide the quantum of punishment. I find this trial by people very juvenile,” said Varma. What about the notices? “My lawyers are replying to both of them in an appropriate manner. That is all I can say right now.”
