Actor Ranbir Kapoor, 29, is taking all his link-up rumours with a pinch of salt, so much so that he now wishes that the current speculations about his affair with his Rockstar co-star Nargis Fakhri were true.
“I really wish the Nargis link-up was true because she is an amazing woman. But she is too evolved as a human being to be attracted towards me,” the actor says, adding, “It’s a lovely relationship that she shares with me and it is pure friendship. There is no sense of attraction of any sort.”
Then why is Nargis missing from the movie’s promotion marathon? According to Ranbir, “We wanted to launch Nargis at the right platform. We are going to do that really soon.”
The actor doesn’t shy away from revealing the real picture behind his reported proximity with 20-year-old newcomer Angela Jonsson. “I met Angela as a friend a couple of times and that was it. Suddenly, I saw a barrage of articles coming out and that made it really awkward. Also, the fact that she is just starting out as an actress, it was unfair on her. I am not in touch with her right now,” he says.
Kapoor says such rumours don’t bother him anymore. “Initially, I used to feel bogged down. I used to feel embarrassed to face my parents, but they have been amazing. They say it’s part and parcel of the job. Today, I take it (the rumours) with a pinch of salt,” says Kapoor, who was earlier dating actor Deepika Padukone.
Currently single, the actor doesn’t rule out looking for options.
“I’ve been single since a long time and I do meet people, but that doesn’t mean that I’m dating. I’ve always been open about my relationships. If I’m in a relationship, I’ll be more than happy to talk about it because I don’t want to live in a cocoon. I want to go out with her on dinners and for movies,” he says.
