An Iranian cleric’s statement that women in“immodest” clothes are causing the earthquakes in Iran has drawn flak from women’s groups worldwide. Tehran’s Friday prayer leader Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi made the statement after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad advised Teheran’s 12 million inhabitants to relocate to avoid a coming quake.

We asked our desi bombshells, who sizzle in revealing clothes, if they were willing to help avert such natural disasters by covering up. Looking for fun? “These clerics live a very boring life and when this man said this, he must have been looking for some fun or light talk,” said actress Neetu Chandra, adding that the cleric must have been out of his mind to make such a remark. Item girl, Sambhavna Seth couldn’t resist laughing. “I wonder what will happen if Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or any of our hot item girls go there. There will be earthquakes, floods and God knows heaven might start emitting fire,” she said. Model-actress Rosa Catalano asked vehemently, “Aren’t there any bigger issues in the world? I am sure these men won’t be able to handle things in that country if Bipasha Basu shows off her hot body there.”

However, not everyone seems to disagree with Sedighi. Item girl Rakhi Sawant, in a bizarre statement, supports the cleric. “It is even mentioned in the Bible that nudity leads to sin. They are right to a great extent. Had I known this earlier, I would not have exposed. For the past two-three months, I have stopped exposing,” she revealed.
