entertainment Updated: Jan 06, 2011 15:37 IST

Filmmaker Raj Khosla’s daughter Sunita Khosla Bhalla aided by Shashi Ranjan of The Indian Television Academy is going to hold an evening of commemoration in the memory of her father on January 8 at Hare Rama Hare Krishna Mandir, Juhu.

Khosla was one of the nation’s best loved filmmakers, responsible for films like CID, Kala Paani, Do Raaste, Do Badan and many more.

“He carried the legacy of his mentor, Guru Dutt forward. He gave a sterling account of himself in whichever genre he chose, from crime to romance and even drama,” says Bhalla.

Ranjan adds, “The Raj Khosla Foundation has been formed with a governing council, headed by Shatrugan Sinha, as its Chairman. Manoj Kumar, Moushumi Chatterjee, Kabir Bedi, Mahesh Bhatt, Amit Khanna and Johny Bakshi are also part of the foundation.”

The foundation is also planning on tying up with an NGO.
