Bandra has found a real-life Barbie in Chanel Robinson. The blonde-hair, blue-eyed daughter of former top models Marc and Waluscha Robinson, makes her TV debut at the young age of eight, in an commercial for Barbie clothing. But her parents insist that theyturned down most offers before. “After numerous offers for ads and even two movies, we finally let her do this one because we felt the brand was the right fit,” says Marc. Waluscha promptly adds, “She’s had offers right from the time she was a baby, but we didn’t find them appropriate and didn’t want the long shooting schedules to pull her out of school.”

Her mother admits to being wracked by nerves before the shoot, saying, “I was trying to explain to her what a chroma screen is and the next thing I hear is my little daughter asking the make-up artiste, ‘do you know my look for the next scene?’ She was a natural from the first take.” Ask Waluscha whether she’ll support her daughter’s rising career and she retorts, “It would be natural for her to want to be a model. But we’d really like her to do something solid, and modelling can be a part of her life too. She’s an athlete and loves playing the piano, basically anything that keeps her out of the classroom.”
