Modern-day communication tools like internet can enhance the interaction among movie buffs across the globe, said film actress Sharmila Tagore.
Launching the website for Big Pictures' Marathi film Samaantar at a multiplex, Tagore said the message and trends of Indian cinema can be taken to the young generation better through the internet, as they are the most tech savvy group.
"The interaction among the eclectic audience will be enhanced due to such modern-day tools. Due to this website, the tech savvy youth will be informed of the new trends in Indian cinema," she said, with the film's director-actor Amol Palekar by her side.
This is Tagore's maiden engagement with Marathi films.
Palekar and Tagore have come together after more than 30 years since pairing in their Bengali super hit film Mother in the late 1970s.
Samaantar (Parallel folds) is an intense story about the parallel lives of Keshav (Palekar) and Shama (Tagore) crossing each other in the twilight of life. It is set for release on September 4.
Big Pictures is the motion pictures brand of Reliance Big Entertainment Ltd - the flagship media and entertainment arm of the Indian conglomerate Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
