Music composer Ismail Darbar was placed under arrest on Wednesday morning for allegedly assaulting an assistant director along with his son and two others. The Amboli police had arrested Darbar’s son and the other two accused on Tuesday.
According to officials at the Amboli police, Darbar, his son Zaid and two of their acquaintances – Nishant Singh, 21, and Mohsin Khan, 29 – assaulted the victim Prashamit Chaudhary, 29. Chaudhary was working as an assistant director in an upcoming movie being directed by Darbar and starring Ashutosh Rana. Chaudhary was demanding his delayed salary, said police.
"We arrested Darbar today morning. He is being taken to the metropolitan court," said Sujit Kumar Gunjkar, assistant inspector at Amboli police station.
In his complaint to the police, Chaudhary had stated that the quartet landed at his apartments on the New Link Road and assaulted him with hockey sticks late on Monday. The police said the incident took place near the parking level of the highrise.
