It started with actor-turned-author Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, who is also filmmaker Shekhar Kapur’s ex wife, making a rather distasteful comment about Panag, who lost to Kher. "Kirron Kher win over Gul Panag. India needs strong women & mothers, not cleavage flashers." (sic), read the tweet.
u omitted the ofcourse from my original tweet. As for posting such a pic on my tweet- shame on u. Ur name says it all @BollywoodGandu— Suchitra (@suchitrak) May 16, 2014
Within minutes, the post spurred strong criticism from Twitterati, including actor Sonam Kapoor, who posted, "I cannot believe a woman tweeted that. It’s disgusting. Women are the biggest enemies of women."

When contacted, Gul Panag responded to HT City’s query by saying, "Ms Krishnamoorthi is entitled to her opinion."
Ad guru Prahlad Kakkar, meanwhile, said, "Suchitra’s tweet is regressive, small-minded, mean, bitchy and petty. I can understand men being snide, but it is sad to see a woman writing in such a derogatory way about another woman.
