It’s not even a week since Minissha Lamba was detained at the airport for carrying undeclared jewellery. But the incident has already been immortalised by Amul butter brand, well known for its funny take on topical events. Punning on the petite actor’s surname, the ad recall’s her “Lamba wait at the airport!” with the tag, “Daily custom.”
The actor herself, who will be next seen in

, is amused and sporty about the ad. “It’s hilarious,” she enthuses, saying that she’s been a fan of the brand’s hoardings since her childhood days. “The copy is simply fabulous, always to the point and funny. I guess it’s an honour,” she maintains.
Minissha reiterates that she not only kept calm during her detention, but also cracked jokes, much to the surprise of the custom officials. “They seemed flummoxed because usually people get scared and teary-eyed. It was rare for them to see someone who was trying to make light of the situation,” she recalls.
In retrospect, the actor concedes that the incident was an educational experience. “It taught me the complicated laws regarding customs,” she asserts, amused to hear that now, people even declare pen drives before boarding their flights.
It was not the end of the day for Minissha even after she got home late night, as her friends came over. “We chatted about Cannes, the customs episode and the photographs I had clicked. It was only around 6 am that I went to sleep,” smiles the actor.
