His portrayal of an alcoholic country singer won him an Oscar and actor Jeff Bridges now plans to pursue a musical career in real life. The 60-year-old actor who won the Best Actor trophy for his role in the film Crazy Heart said that he has been writing songs since his early childhood, just like the film's protagonist Bad Blake, reported Los Angeles Times.
"I've been writing and playing music since I was a kid, and I'm sure that's what happened to Bad. Forming a country band sounds like a good idea," said Bridges.The actor who has been nominated for an Oscar four times earlier, said that films, just like music helps people connect.
"Movies are more than just entertainment. They're connecting us. And music is the same way," he said. But the Big Lebowski star says that he has no plans to quit acting for music." Acting is gonna bloom for me. That's something I've been doing for a long time, and this is going to help me continue that," said the actor who credited his wife of 33 years, Susan Geston for his win.
"I especially want to thank my gorgeous wife, Sue, we've been married 33 years. We have a beautiful family. Three girls, Isabelle, Jessie and Hayley. Thank you, guys. I wouldn't be up here without you. Thank you so much," he had said while accepting his award.
