John Abraham hurts his back due to Welcome Back

Driving in the desert recently proved to be a painful task for John Abraham.

The actor, who was supposed to drive an SUV in a desert in Dubai, UAE, for his next Welcome Back, with director Anees Bazmee, sprained his back and required immediate medical care.

A source present on the set says, "In one of the sequences for the climax, which was a car chase, John was required to dodge cars coming towards him from all directions. But due to a miscalculation, he applied the brakes suddenly, which resulted in a back sprain."

Apparently, the actor was in terrible pain post the incident. "A doctor was immediately rushed to the spot as John’s pain was getting unbearable. He couldn’t even sit," says the source, adding, "After some rest, a couple of physiotherapy sessions, and a few painkillers, John was back to complete the rest of the shoot. However, the doctor has advised him to take care of his back, and not pick up any heavy objects for a couple of weeks."

When contacted, Firoz A Nadiadwala, the producer of the film, confirmed the news, saying, "John faced back trouble while driving the SUV on the bumpy sand dunes."
