John Abraham’s fondness for Ayushmann Khurrana, whom he launched last year in his home production, Vicky Donor, only gets deeper by the day. The latest we have heard it that John asked his personal trainer, Vinod Channa, to help the young actor develop six packs for his next, Bewakoofian, produced by Yash Raj Films.

“In the film, Ayushmann will be seen playing squash in a number of sequences. To pull off the role of an athlete, he needed to develop six-pack abs. So when he turned to John for his advice, the latter immediately got him his trainer. Ayushmann trained hard at the gym under Vinod’s guidance,” says an insider close to the actors.

Bewakoofian also stars Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. It will release next year in March. “Ayushmann did not have a lot of time to develop a strong physique, but Vinod worked extremely hard to help him achieve the goal,” adds the insider.

When contacted, Ayushmann confirms: “Yes, I had been training with Vinod for my new look. John is like a brother to me. Whenever I find myself stuck, I turn to him.”

The actor is also supposed to start work on John’s next production which will be directed by Shoojit Sircar.
