Actor Juhi Chawla, 43, is sure that Cineyug Films founder Karim Morani, who has been named a co-conspirator in the 2G spectrum allocation scam, is clean. "It is sad that Karim has been involved in all this. I just hope he comes through this difficult time soon," she says, explaining that she has known him long enough to believe that he would not indulge in any wrong.
"I have known the Morani brothers for more than 20 years. They have managed our tours all over the world. I have been dependent on them when it came to these shows," she adds in support, wishing that justice is meted out to him. And, there are other serious matters playing on the actor’s mind. Her elder brother Bobby Chawla, also the CEO of Shah Rukh Khan’s production Red Chillies Entertainment, fell seriously ill last April, and is still in suffering. "I keep praying ... I just hope he recovers soon," she says.
Juhi, who was in the Capital to promote snack brand Kurkure, says I Am marked her big screen comeback, and there’s more to come. "I firmly believe that one should choose films according to one’s age. As I have a family to take care of, before taking on a project, I keep in mind that I have to strike a balance as a homemaker and as an actor. I feel blessed to have that work-family balance. My next project will be an animation film called Main Krishna. Kids will love it. It is really sweet," she says.
Juhi will also be seen in a kiddie chat show on TV — Badmaash Company.
