Kangna Ranaut turns saviour for her maid

entertainment Updated: Dec 18, 2012 20:37 IST

Six years ago, Kangna Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli, was the victim of an acid attack. For several months after that, the actor was at Rangoli’s beck and all, helping her recover from the incident.

It seems the same caring instinct took over when she came across her maid’s little son, who was seriously ill.

A source reveals, “Kangna’s housemaid was in dire need of help when her five-month-old son developed a problem in his eye. The doctors told her it was a tumour that had to be operated and eventually the eye too had to be removed. This was one-and-a-half years ago. Today, the kid is two-years-old and doing better, but he has to go for regular check-ups and treatment.”

Despite being busy with work, Kangana makes sure to keep tabs on the child daily. “She has let the maid stay in her house with her son, and she even takes care of the kid if and when needed. Kangna spends time with him whenever she’s at home. Even when she’s out of town or on a shoot, she calls three-four times a day to check up on him. She has been sponsoring all his treatments and needs,” adds the source.

The bond probably stems from the fact that this maid has been working with the actor since she joined the film industry.

The source claims, “Kangna gets worried when he has to go for painful procedures that are unbearable for a two year old.” When contacted Kangna was unavailable for comment.
