The Karnataka High Court Friday granted conditional bail to Kannada film star Darshan, who is facing allegations of assaulting his wife.
Justice BV Pinto granted conditional bail to Darshan and posted the case for further hearing on Oct 13 when he wants both Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi to appear in court.
Darshan has to submit a personal surety bond of Rs 25,000 to the court.
Darshan's release will end his 29 days of judicial custody.
Vijayalakshmi told IANS after the verdict: "I am extremely happy about this development. I will assure all the fans and friends of Darshan that such things will not occur in future."
"I will seek their pardon. It was a bad time and both of us never realised that things will go to such extremities. I am too eager to invite my husband to our residence," she added.
