Kareena Kapoor-starrer RA.One has just released and its opening day collections are already being compared to her other recent release, Bodyguard. But the Kapoor lass doesn’t care as she is on a high after unveiling her wax figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool on Thursday. The life-like statue sports the ‘mauja hi mauja look’ from Bebo’s 2007 film, Jab We Met.
The statue took four months to be made and cost 150,000 pounds. Speaking after the unveiling, Kareena, 30, said, “It was an absolutely amazing experience. Everyone was expecting it to be the Chameli look but Jab We Met is an iconic film and an iconic character for me. People loved the way I looked and many young girls voted for the look. I was very clear that if I was going to represent Indian cinema on a global platform, it had to be a song and dance outfit.”
Beau Saif Ali Khan could not accompany Bebo at the event despite reports that the date of unveiling was being worked out in a way that he could attend. “Saif is busy shooting for Agent Vinod in Jaisalmer. My sister (Karisma Kapoor) could not come as she is also shooting. My mother was there with me and that was great because she doesn’t come for many public functions.”
The actor also says she got great feedback on Ra.One. “It’s been amazing. This whole back-to-back thing ... First Ra.one and then the unveiling.” What does she have to say to those who feel she could have had more to do in the film? “I think that in a superhero film, its the best that it could have been. I did something like this for the first time and feel it’s a lovely part,” she says. Unaware of RA.One’s comparison with Bodyguard, Bebo says, “I don’t know about the comparisons. For me both are my films, so whichever one!” she laughs.
