Asia’s first ever, India International Jewellery Week, flags off in the city today at the Hotel Grand Hyatt. Hosted by Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), with the support of the Ministry for Commerce and Industry, the five-day event will showcase the collections of 30 designers, including Farah Khan Ali, Varun D. Jani, along with well-known brands like Mirari, Gitanjali, Amrapali, Tanishq and Ganjam. Works from the National Institute of Design (NID) and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will also be on display.
The event is taking place for the first time in India and only the second time in the world.
There will be seven shows daily. Katrina Kaif will be walking for Gitanjali on Day 1 that will end with Deepika Padukone as Farah Khan’s showstopper. Mughda Godse is the other Bollywood model.
