Hi o my strawberry sundaes. How goes it with yee? I’m in a bit of a tizzy.. Vyjjy’s wanting to sweep me off to China. Eeeeeeeeewwww, China! No way! And you can blame this sudden aversion for the Orient to a certain celluloid fright.
And how the mighty have fallen. Seems Akshay Kumar isn’t taking his latest drubbing in the right spirit. I never thought he was a good sportsman, not-withstanding his much-hyped about Olympic run.
The only one who’s feeling mighty pleased she sprinted away, just in time, never mind the twin track, is Katrina Kaif. Yes, cool Kat was the first choice for Seeta-Geeta roles but apparently Khiladi Kumar felt she looked Chini kum. So, in waltzed Deepika Padukone, who has been going around saying that her Chini look has started a new trend.
While the Great Wall is still standing, priceless Akki’s remuneration, I’m told, has fallen. Ratan Jain, who’s producing his next movie, has been demanding a cut.. keeping in mind the fact that forget crowds in China or Chandni Chowk, Akki’s newest fantasy adventure couldn’t even make a killing at Chunabhatti theatres.
My trade khabru couldn’t resist saying that now we know King kaun hai and con Kinng hai. Tee hee.
For all the ‘V’ signs he’s been displaying everywhere he goes, Harman Baweja may soon need to flash the peace sign the next time he spots Amrita Rao, his co-star from Victory.
The petite gal is maha miffed with him for hogging all the limelight during the pre-release promotional campaign of their movie.
Itna hi nahin, she’s just learnt that it was Harman who sneaked out details about their growing dosti for more newsprint for himself. No wonder Amri is feeling manipulated and is believed to have conveyed her displeasure to the producers.
They’re none too happy with Harman’s publicity ka bhookha ways either and have told him to go slow on the self promotion. From I, me and myself it’ll now have to be we two or should that be V two? Good, serves him right!
Keep them waiting
Ooops! He’s done it yet again. Yup, he promised to make a special (huh?) appearance in the TV show Nach Baliye 4 and then, as usual, ditched at the last moment. I’m talking about.. who else, but.. Govinda.. who has made drop in-and-drop out his trademark routine.
The latest victims are the producers of the show . Seems uncle Go Go had assured them that he would turn up for a khaas episode that was to be shot on Monday afternoon. A dance number with Karisma Kapur, his one time favourite co-star and one of the show’s judges, was to be the highpoint of the show.
Govinda was supposed to arrive at noon.. the hours ticked by but Chi Chi bhai was unreachable. The bechara unitwalas are still recovering. My granny says this new vanishing act reminds her of a multi-crore show Go Go hosted eons ago.. the actor didn’t show up even till 7 p m for a 9 a m shift. Ooof, some leopards never change their spots. And in uncle Go Go’s case, those spots are canary yellow and neon green.
N ow, here’s a birdie tweeting about Aftab Shivdasani. I’ve yet to hear about someone who doesn’t have any shikwa against Faffy.
The new members to his hate club are the producers of Aloo Chaat. Nah, I’m not talking about the chaatwalas from Churchgate to Bandra, but the nirmatas who’ve invested money (what were they thinking?) in a movie featuring Aftab and Amna Shariff.
The film is complete and they wanted to go ahead and release it, pronto.
But Affy wants Daddy Cool, Indra Kumar’s desi version of the pardesi movie, Death at a Funeral, to come first, convinced it will have crowds queuing up at the ticket windows. Aloo Chaat can come later, he’s apparently told them.
Well, I don’t really care about Daddy Cool.. but since I kinda like the Aamna gal. My sympathies go out to her for getting involved with a matlabi man like Aftab.
Feeling the blues
Here’s Mottu with my green mint tea and a chhoti si dastaan about Minissha Lamba. The actress celebrated her 24th janam din with 15 odd friends at Royal Palms on Sunday. Now that should have put her in high spirits but Mots insists she’s still feeling a tad low.
Reason: her ‘bachpan se very good friend’ Suhail Rathore was nowhere around. He had gone to visit family back home in Kashmir, leaving Minissha feeling oh-so-lonesome.
Of course, says Mots, he did send her his best wishes and ishq vishk over the cell phone. But that was small consolation. Tsk, tsk. After all, such is life dearies.
