They are both popstars who love to shock but Katy Perry has hit out at Lady Gaga, calling her latest video a "cheap" publicity stunt.
Gaga has courted controversy again with the video for her latest single Alejandro which used Catholic imagery, including the singer dressed as a nun in a red PVC habbit swallowing a crucifix.
Perry, who herself in no stranger to risque outfits and videos, has taken aim at the Poker Face hitmaker saying that using blasphemy as entertainment is cheap, reported Ace Showbiz online.
"Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke," tweeted Perry, making an obvious reference to Gaga's video.
The fiancee of funnyman Russell Brand didn't mention Gaga's name on her post, though the Internet has been abuzz with reports of "Katy dissing Gaga".
Aside from the jab, the two singers have several things in common. Perry spoke about lesbianism in her claim-fame single I Kissed a Girl and Gaga celebrates gay love in Alejandro.
