International pop queen to belt out a half-hour performance at Indian Grand Prix after-party
The Indian Grand Prix just got racier. Pop queen Lady Gaga, 25, will perform for a whole half an hour during the closing ceremony of India’s first Formula One Grand Prix in Greater Noida on October 30. She lands in Delhi on October 28-29, and this will be her first visit to India.
The closing celebrations will be co-hosted by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and restaurateur AD Singh. “It can’t get bigger than this. Lady Gaga is undoubtedly the number one artist in the world, and the thought of having her perform at the Formula One after-party is so exciting! I am sure it will create history, and we should be happy to be part of this history,” says the 38-year-old actor, whose restro-bar Lap is the official partner for the event’s parties. “We want her to try Indian food, but we’re waiting to know what she wants,” adds AD Singh, who is tightlipped on her stay details and itinerary due to security reasons.
He adds, “Gaga has a massive fan following in India, and is thrilled to perform here. She stands for originality, and a whole generation has been mesmerised by her. I love her music and she stands for something that is different. My wife and children are huge fans of hers, and as far as I am concerned, I love her song Poker Face the most.”
Gaga will perform at the ticketed event that will take place at Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Greater Noida after the final race on the Buddh International Circuit. A special lounge, called the LAP Buddh Circuit, will be created on the resort’s premises, and Gaga will perform on the last day. Apart from the American pop star, some international DJs will perform on the other days of the racing gala, to be held from October 28-30. World famous DJ Roger Sanchez will perform on day one, Edward Maya on day two and Tom Navy on day three.
