There can be nothing more upsetting than spending Diwali at work but what can be even sadder is the fact that you sit and crib about it. So, take some cue from us on how to have some fun and also keep the boss happy:
Good clothes: It's a sin to not wear
something ethnic or traditional on this day. After all, don't we all wait for an occasion to get dressed? Take out your best of silk kurtas (for both men and women) or khadi/silk sarees and go a little out of your way to look good. It's all about looking and feeling good. Trust me, it's worth it.
Graffiti: Rangoli is passé, try spraying your walls with cool graffiti work. But remember to put white boards before you do it; you don't want to get sacked after all.
Play cards: Playing cards is synonymous to Diwali. How you can you not take out a few minutes after lunch for this fun bit? If you're not a pro, UNO is one option. Give it a shot.
Potluck: Potluck can be a lot of fun. This is one chance to show your culinary skills also and you'll get to hog onto different cuisines. Slurp slurp.
Music: Get some good music to soothe your ears. You can even flood your playlist with Diwali numbers and get your groove on!
Diwali shots: Get yourself a martini shot this Diwali. Don't get tipsy; just have a little fun at work. If it's all in good spirit, it's harmless.
Crackers: Needless to say why you need to burn those crackers and get the feel of the festival. There are so many types available and don't forget to go for the eco-friendly ones.
Sweets: Get those yummilicious sweets to devour for your fellow workers. It's an absolute mandatory thing to do! And yes, you're allowed to have as much.
