Get ready to roll with laughter this weekend, as 16 comedians in the city come together on stage for the Loser's Night Out. Organised by Shoelace productions, the two-day comedy festival plans to celebrate the spirit of losers. “We are calling it the Loser’s Night Out, as we believe in making fun of ourselves before we make fun of others,” says Deepak Dhamija, director, Shoelace Productions.
The festival has a mix of comedians such as Neeti Palta, Abijit Ganguly, Raghav Mandava from Delhi, along with newbies Varun Popli, Vasu Primlani and Vipin Kumar who will perform for 15 minutes each. “All the artists showed absolute readiness to go through the casting couch, casting bean bag and even casting stools,” jokes Dhamija.
While comedians Neeti Palta and Vasu Primlani will bring in the feminine angle to the show, Monty Singh and Maheep Singh focus on the world of Sikhs. The comedy festival will also be high on music, with rib-tickling original songs by Sameer Maira, 29, and Vipin Kumar, 23. While Maira sings about the plight of falling in love with an adult star, Kumar sings about common sights in the city like rickshahwalas on the road.
