It’s a classic case of out of sight, out of mind. The first former lady of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit Nene, is getting ignored on Twitter. The now-retired diva joined the website on May 30, but hasn’t started tweeting actively. The reason is that she’s is still awaiting the verified stamp from Twitter.
Her first tweet reads: “I joined Twitter after being pushed by my friends from Mumbai. Now what?” Post that, Madhuri has been verifying her own identity, all by herself. “I am the real, legitimate MD,” she says. Apparently, Madhuri contacted the headquarters too, upset that the verification has taken over two months.
She writes, “I would never want my fans to be disappointed by talking to my fake identities. I’ve submitted all the requisite credentials needed for confirmation.”
What’s surprising is that the ‘close-knit’ Bollywood fraternity usually welcomes each new entrant to the website by mentioning their Twitter handles on their streams, but no one seems to have done that for Madhuri.
