Mahi’s in love again. Only this time he’s romancing two new objects of affection — a babe named Zoya and his new home in Harmu, Ranchi. The Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni had adopted a 10-week old Weimaraner puppy in May but couldn’t bring it home as he was playing abroad. Last Wednesday, he finally went to Bangalore to pick Zoya from the house of Xerxes Desai, a senior executive who owns Zoya’s mom Misty.
Desai tells HT City more about the dazzling love story. “Dhoni dropped by post midnight on Wednesday. As soon as he entered the house, Zoya and her mother, Misty charged towards him. Though MS and Misty had hit it off on an occasion in the past, it was amazing to see Zoya pounce on him...guess they got the right vibes,” shares Desai with a chortle.
Dhoni, who met Desai through former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, showed keen interest in adopting one of Misty’s seven pups. “Since he moves into his new house in September, he dropped by to finally take Zoya home,” informs Desai. He also reveals that Zoya was named by Dhoni himself. “He’s lived with dogs and is a very affectionate person. Though the rare breed Weimaraners are hunting dogs, they make for great companions,” he adds.
Desai is certain about Zoya’s prosperity at Dhoni’s palatial pad, nearing completion. Spread over 9000 sq ft, the skipper's dream house will have a swimming pool in the basement. The work is on under Dhoni’s brother Narendra’ s supervision. The three-storeyed mansion follows Vastu Shastra norms. Dhoni has chosen to stay on the ground floor.
